Sütçüler Prof. Dr. Hasan Gürbüz Vocational School organized a career-oriented event titled “Career Talks: Alumni Experience in the Field of Hunting and Wildlife” to enhance students’ professional awareness, support their career planning processes, and strengthen interaction between current students and graduates.
The event featured İsmail Eren, a graduate of the Hunting and Wildlife Program, as the guest speaker. The session was moderated by Dr. Lecturer Ahmet KOCA and attended by Assoc. Prof. Halil SÜEL, Vice Director of Sütçüler Prof. Dr. Hasan Gürbüz Vocational School.

During the opening remarks, the importance of bringing students together with graduates who have direct experience in the professional field was emphasized. It was noted that such events contribute significantly to helping students better understand their future profession, identify realistic career goals, gain insight into working life, and build professional communication networks.
In his presentation, İsmail Eren shared his experiences after graduation and explained how the education he received in the Hunting and Wildlife Program contributed to his professional development. He discussed employment opportunities in wildlife management, nature conservation, hunting and wildlife-related institutions, field-based practices, internships, and the importance of gaining practical experience during the education process.
The speaker also highlighted that professional success in the field requires not only technical knowledge but also effective communication skills, teamwork, awareness of current legislation, the ability to use new technologies, and a strong understanding of nature conservation and sustainable wildlife management.
During the question-and-answer session, students asked about employment opportunities after graduation, career paths in public institutions and the private sector, internship experiences, fieldwork opportunities, and the qualifications expected from young professionals. İsmail Eren responded to the students’ questions by sharing practical recommendations based on his own professional journey.
At the end of the event, Assoc. Prof. Halil SÜEL thanked İsmail Eren for his valuable contribution and stated that the sharing of alumni experiences plays an important role in supporting students’ academic and professional development.
