The “Career Path with DGS” seminar, organized by the Vocational School, took place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 15:30 in the Abdullah Tayyip Olçok Conference Hall. The speaker was Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Koca, Career Representative of the Vocational School.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Koca opened his talk with the question “Is where you are now the final destination?” He asked students to think about their goal of working in the profession they want. He said that an associate degree is a strong foundation. He also explained that the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) is an important way to move on to a bachelor’s degree.
The seminar pointed out how the Grade Point Average (GPA) affects the DGS score. Koca advised students to start preparing for the exam from their very first day. He noted that ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) questions are equivalent to DGS questions, so students can also use ALES study materials while they prepare.
Students also received information about TÜBİTAK student project applications. The talk then covered the undergraduate programs that students in forestry-related associate degree programs can transfer to through the DGS.
The seminar ended after students’ questions were answered.
